Jonas Maurer
Jonas is a visiting student at the MIT AgeLab and a final-year master’s student in Software Engineering at the Technical University of Munich, LMU Munich, and the University of Augsburg. His master's thesis addresses the digital divide in long-term care facilities through the development of a dual-interface platform: a native iOS application tailored for caregivers and a responsive web portal for management. Adopting a user-centric approach, Jonas utilizes iterative user interviews and feedback rounds to validate the system’s design. His research aims to close critical information gaps and empower the caregiving workforce.
Prior to joining the AgeLab, Jonas completed a B.Sc. in Management and Technology and a B.Sc. in Computer Science. Through various internships and working student positions, he gained extensive experience in full-stack development and research across several industries. He has designed full-stack applications for accessing quantum computing services and engineered performance testing frameworks for large-scale enterprise software systems. His background is further complemented by academic research in quantum machine learning, where he co-authored multiple publications, and his experience as a teaching assistant for database systems.
