Elisa Cardamone
Elisa is a UK Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the MIT AgeLab and a PhD Candidate in Advanced Care at the University of Edinburgh. Her doctoral research explores how platformisation reshapes self-care practices in later life, using narrative and co-design methods to inform more empathetic and inclusive digital health technologies.
At the AgeLab, Elisa’s work leverages AGNES to examine the intersection of ageing, technology, and care, with a focus on the design of systems that reflect older adults’ lived experiences, values, and social contexts.
Prior to joining the AgeLab, Elisa completed an MSc in Medical Anthropology at the University of Oxford and a BA in Archaeology and Anthropology at the University of Manchester. Her research has been supported by the Fulbright Commission, the Advanced Care Research Centre, and the Centre for Technomoral Futures, among others.
