Think investing technology has changed? Investors have changed more

During a panel discussion for MarketWatch, Dr. Joseph F. Coughlin moves beyond mere retirement planning toward longevity planning. How will financial advisors help their clients with the following conundrum: they are living longer than their parents did, and longer than their grandparents could have dreamed. What should they do with all that time? How do they pull things together? "The robo advisor should be considered a blessing." Dr. Coughlin says. "It will buy human advisors the time to develop an empathetic, passionate discussion with a client, instead of asking blindly, 'what are your objectives?' ... To be honest, most of us don't know our objectives" for retirement.
