MIT students collaborated with AgeLab researchers on “A Comparison of the Demands of Destination Entry using Google Glass and the Samsung Galaxy S4”. The project considered differences between using the two devices in driver’s performance, workload and responsiveness to events.

The project was presented at the New England Chapter of the 2014 Human Factors and Ergonomics Society’s Annual Student Conference, where it won the Volpe Award for Best Transportation Presentation.

The authors were Sam Schreiner, Niek Beckers and Pierre Bertrand of the MIT Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics Man Vehicle Lab, along with Daniel Munger, Jonathan Dobres, Bruce Mehler and Bryan Reimer of the MIT AgeLab and New England UTC.
