The Sharing Economy Spells Doom - Or Boom - For the Senior Housing Industry

An article in Forbes by AgeLab Director Joseph Coughlin questions whether the coming demographic wave of older adults will lead to a boom for the senior housing industry.

New technologies and services such as those within the sharing economy will allow older adults to stay in their homes for longer -- meaning that they will ultimately make the jump into assisted living later in life and worse in health, the point when costs for the facility are highest.

But there may be a way for the industry to turn these technological trends in their favor.
