Joseph Coughlin, founder and Director of the MIT AgeLab, delivered opening remarks and moderated Our Aging Market: Why Businesses Need to Respond, Harvard Business School Symposium, Boston, Massachusetts, March 5, 2015. The event gathered nearly 300 participants from across the United States focused on the business implications of an aging marketplace.
Coughlin stressed the need for new businesses to meet the needs of older consumers, as well as the imperative for new language and a better understanding of the differences between users of technology and the buyers. He also discussed how aging is an opportunity to innovate a new lifestyle, not just an opportunity for revolutions in healthcare technology.
